Remember, as a kid we had this wooden board in the garage that I now realise was an old belly board. I’m not sure where it came from but it was my earliest memory of some form of ocean craft. Growing up surfing very quickly became all and everything and subsequently opened up a whole new world, that to this day has shaped my life and career. It continues to define who I am as a person.
Today, surfing and my relationship with the ocean has opened doors and allowed me to combine my biggest passion with my working life. Based in the far south of the UK on the rugged north Cornish coast I work as a surf photographer and designer. My traditional film images of the sea and surf culture around me have appeared in publications from all around the world.
Away from camera’s and pencil’s I am currently working on my biggest personal project to date appropriately called ‘Shaping thru the Lens’ the story of shaping and documenting surfboard building through the medium of old film cameras.
